UNIQUE WOVEN GRASS COFFIN - The
"Asian Harmony" is handcrafted from sustainably grown seagrass cultivated in marginal fields near sea-level in Vietnam. These annual grasses are a mainstay production crop of the villagers who harvest them, grown in fields without pesticides or fertilizers.
The grasses are tightly woven around a wooden frame, cleverly wrapped and knotted in traditional fashion, and firmly secured with a small number of screws and staples.
This design comes in two styles - Oval (curved ends) and Traditional (coffin shaped) Six handles and multiple flower rings are woven into the sides (flowers not included!)
The fitted lid is separate, and secured with two grass-wrapped cane closing-poles that pass through loops. Each coffin includes a simple heavyweight cotton-calico hemmed-sheet liner to wrap the body before burial.
The Asian Harmony's seagrass colors vary from light brown to beige hues with a subtle hint of green.
